Booking for a family of four starts with a simple question: where will each person sleep? A room result for four guests might involve shared beds, a bunk, an extra bed or more than one room. The total headcount is only the beginning.
This shortlist focuses on named room categories at three Shinjuku hotels. Use it to compare layouts, then enter every traveler’s age and your dates on the booking page. The aim is to choose a setup that works for your family at bedtime as well as during the day.

02 / LOOK AT THE EXACT CATEGORY
Which arrangement suits your family?
For apartment facilities and a choice of beds
MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku West

The Family Apartment has two singles and a bunk, while the Apartment (4 Single-Beds) gives everyone a separate single bed. Both are 40 m² and list capacity for four adults. The property provides kitchens and dining areas.
For teenagers or anyone who would rather avoid a ladder, start with the four-single category. If the children enjoy bunks, compare the Family Apartment instead.
Official rooms, layouts and facilities
Look for Family Apartment or Apartment (4 Single-Beds). Check the bed details if Agoda uses a different label.
For four beds in a dedicated family category
Keio Plaza Hotel Tokyo

The Luxury Family Room measures 46.3 m² and has four 120 cm-wide beds, with a sofa bed available as the fifth sleeping place. The official layout also includes two toilets, a bathroom, a separate shower booth and a washbasin counter usable by two people.
That setup is worth comparing if separate beds and getting everyone ready in the morning matter more than apartment-style facilities. For four guests, verify that your selected rate provides the four-bed arrangement.

Search for Luxury Family Room. If it is absent for your dates, check with the hotel rather than substituting a standard twin.
For a family comfortable sharing one double
Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside

Adjoining Room A is listed for four people, with areas of 18 m² and 25 m². The beds are two 110 cm singles and one 160 cm double. The category lists washer-dryer equipment, a kitchenette and a microwave.
This is an option for a family that wants two room spaces and is happy for two people to share the double. It is not a four-separate-bed arrangement.

03 / BEFORE YOU BOOK
Five details that make the room work
- Enter the children’s actual ages.A child counted under a bed-sharing allowance may not receive a separate bed. Describe the sleeping places you need, not just the number of people.
- Read the bed breakdown.Check whether the offer includes singles, a shared double, bunks, a sofa bed or an added bed. Confirm any extra-bed charge in the final total.
- Check access between rooms. For any two-room option, get a clear answer about doors and corridors. Two nearby rooms may not give you the access you want while supervising children.
- Plan for the suitcases too.Decide whether all cases must stay open or whether you can unpack and store them closed. Ask where larger bags can go without blocking the door or bathroom.
- Compare the full stay cost.Use the same dates, travelers, meal choices and cancellation conditions. A headline room rate alone does not show whether two offers meet the same needs.
Will four large suitcases fit?
For a starting point on usable floor space, see our Shinjuku room comparison for two large suitcases. The evidence there covers two cases, so ask the hotel separately about your family’s full luggage load.
We have not verified four open large suitcases in each exact layout listed here. Total room area helps narrow a search, but beds, furniture and bathrooms take up part of it. A positive review for a different category cannot settle the question.
Send a practical request rather than asking only whether the room is spacious:
We are [number of adults] and [number of children, with ages]. For the [exact room category], could you confirm the beds included and whether [number] suitcases measuring [dimensions] can be opened without blocking the walkway? If the category includes two rooms, how do guests move between them?
This also helps avoid a mismatch between the hotel’s room name and the wording on the booking site.
Questions families often need to settle
Does “sleeps four” mean four separate beds?
No. Check the bed list and the rate’s occupancy conditions. A shared double can accommodate two people but is still one bed.
Which option should we look at if we dislike bunks?
Use the comparison table to find a four-bed arrangement, then inspect its room plan. Keep the exact category selected as you move from search results to the final booking screen.
Is the largest room automatically the easiest with luggage?
No. A floor plan can show whether the usable space is together or split between rooms. Decide how you will unpack and where each traveler will sleep before judging the advertised area.
What if Agoda does not show the room in this article?
Try your exact party details and dates, then check directly with the hotel if needed. The links open property pages; they do not guarantee that a particular category is sold or available there.
Choose the sleeping arrangement first. Once everyone has an agreed place to sleep, compare luggage space, daily routines and the total price. That gives you a more useful shortlist than the hotel’s name alone.
Plan the rest of your family stay
If you prefer two rooms, read our Shinjuku connecting-room booking guide before choosing an adjoining-room offer. Traveling with one more person? Compare room options for a family of five.
For meals during a longer stay, compare Shinjuku hotels with kitchens and kitchenettes. You can also return to the Shinjuku hotel planning guide to compare other priorities.
How this guide was checked
We used our Shinjuku research database to identify candidates, then checked the official room pages linked in each hotel section on September 20, 2026. The four-single apartment was included after checking MIMARU’s current listing.
This is a researched guide, not a personal stay review. Room photos on the linked official pages and confirmation from the hotel are the next checks for your particular family. Property photographs below the hotel names are Agoda affiliate images, not evidence of the exact room layout.
