When you search for Shinjuku hotels with connecting rooms, the practical question is how your family will move between the two spaces. A room next door may still require you to step into the public corridor.

Connecting, adjoining and adjacent rooms: what is the difference?
Connecting rooms
For this guide, the arrangement to ask for is two guest rooms linked by an internal connecting door, so you can move between them without entering the public corridor. Ask the hotel to confirm that physical arrangement and that the door will be usable during your stay.
Adjoining or adjacent rooms
Do not treat either label as proof of an internal connecting door. A property may use these words for neighboring rooms or for a particular two-room layout. Ask for the route between the spaces and, where available, a floor plan.
Two-bedroom suites
A suite with two bedrooms is another possible solution, but it is a different accommodation category. Confirm the bedroom doors, bathroom count and sleeping places rather than assuming it works like two connecting hotel rooms.

The official Deluxe Select page includes a connecting-room section and describes bed arrangements that can be prepared on request. It provides a useful starting category for an inquiry, rather than a reason to reserve any two rooms at the hotel.
Have reservations name both room categories and list the beds in each. Request the permitted adult and child occupancy, bathroom count and confirmation that the rooms connect internally.
For your comparison, ask for one total covering both rooms and any required bedding. If the proposed arrangement changes, check whether the new categories still connect.
Official Deluxe Select and connecting-room information
Use Agoda to compare rates after confirming the required pair and the booking channel through which the hotel can secure it. An ordinary room offer does not establish a connecting-room reservation.
A PUBLISHED KING-AND-TWIN PAIRING
Park Hyatt Tokyo
The official room page gives a concrete pairing: 1 King Bed, Corner, Premium has a connecting-room option to 2 Twin Beds, City View.
The published room areas are 60 m² and 50 m² respectively. The two listings state that an extra bed is not available, so do not plan an additional sleeping place without discussing your group with the hotel.
Ask whether the connecting pair is available for your entire stay. Booking one room of each category independently does not confirm that they will be the rooms that connect.

CONFIRM ELIGIBLE CATEGORIES WITH RESERVATIONS
Kimpton Shinjuku Tokyo
Kimpton’s official FAQ confirms that some room categories have connecting rooms and directs guests to its reservations team for inquiries. The answer does not identify an exact pairing, so that is the first detail to obtain.
If your group needs a cot or rollaway bed, ask at the same time. The FAQ notes that not every room can accommodate these additions and that supply is limited.
Ask which two rooms can connect for your dates, how your guests will be allocated and whether the connection can be confirmed before payment.

Check with reservations first. The hotel-level Agoda link does not select or guarantee a connecting pair.
04 / A DIFFERENT TWO-ROOM ARRANGEMENT
What about Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside’s Adjoining Rooms?
This option deserves a separate explanation. A 2022 official release describes entering the adjoining accommodation and finding two further doors leading to the bedrooms. It describes opening the doors to use the two spaces together.
That suggests an entrance arrangement worth investigating, but it should not be presented as proof of a conventional connecting door directly between the bedrooms. The older release does not settle the current layout of every A or B booking.
The current room page lists Adjoining Room A for four guests and Adjoining Room B for five. Ask for the plan of the category you intend to reserve and confirm whether the entrance area is private to your party.
Is the connecting route entirely inside your booked accommodation? Must anyone enter the public corridor? Which doors can be locked, and how are keys issued?

If the connection cannot be confirmed and your group needs internal access, compare an accommodation category that keeps everyone together. A larger family room or a suitable suite may be easier to assess than two rooms with an unresolved request.

Shinjuku connecting-room FAQ
Are connecting rooms guaranteed if the hotel lists them?
No. The listing establishes that connecting options exist. Your reservation needs confirmation of the actual pair for your dates. Check whether the connection is included in the booked arrangement or remains a request.
Can I book two rooms on Agoda and ask for them to connect?
You can ask, but do not assume a request will be fulfilled. Contact the hotel about the required categories and booking method first. The Agoda links in this guide open property listings and do not preselect connecting rooms.
Are adjoining rooms the same as connecting rooms?
Do not rely on the label alone. Ask whether there is an internal connection, a private entrance area or only neighboring rooms accessed from the public corridor. A floor plan can clarify the arrangement.
Do connecting rooms automatically accommodate five people?
No. Occupancy and beds must be checked for each room. A fifth person may need an approved additional sleeping place, and that option may not be available in the connecting categories.
Can children stay in one of the rooms without an adult?
Ask the hotel about its age and room-allocation rules for your family. Internal access does not, by itself, establish that a particular allocation of adults and children is permitted.
Do connecting rooms always have two bathrooms?
Confirm the number and location of bathrooms and toilets for the exact pair. Do not infer bathroom counts from a label such as “two bedrooms” or “adjoining.”
