Which Tokyo hotels have washing machines inside the room?
The room categories below explicitly list private washing and drying equipment on their official hotel pages. They cover Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Asakusa, Nihombashi and Hatchobori. Use the exact room name when comparing booking offers.
A hotel’s “laundry facilities” label may describe shared machines or a collection service. A kitchen is also a separate amenity. This comparison shows both laundry and cooking facilities so you can choose a room that fits your stay.

* MIMARU lists up to two children aged six or under in addition to four adults for these suites. Confirm bed-sharing rules and enter every child’s age. These are four-bed rooms, not six separate beds. Tokyu Stay capacities are the official listed guest limits; check child and bedding policies for your offer.
Choose by the sleeping arrangement first
For two travelers wanting separate beds, start with Eastside’s twin. For a couple sharing one bed, compare Ginza’s double. For four adults wanting one single bed each, the three MIMARU suites are the clearer starting point. For a family of four, compare the Tokyu Stay family rooms too, after checking how all four guests sleep.

02 / COMPARE THE TOTAL COST
How much does laundry cost at a Tokyo hotel?
There is no single price to apply to these options. Ask for the current charges at the property you are considering, including drying and detergent. For a private machine, confirm whether use is included in your selected room rate.
For example, paying extra for every night solely to avoid one shared wash may offer little value. For a family washing repeatedly, easier access may justify an additional cost. These are decisions about your routine; this guide does not assume a particular room premium or cost per load.
For a collection service, request the price list before handing over clothing. Ask whether the price is per item or per bag, whether pressing is included, and when the clothes will be returned.
When shared laundry is enough
A private machine can simplify repeated family loads. If you only expect one wash during a short trip, a hotel with shared machines may work just as well. Ask about dryer availability, opening hours, payment and detergent before booking.
For alternatives, our Shinjuku laundry comparison separates private washer-dryer rooms from shared-laundry hotels. Keep those two facility types separate when comparing prices.
04 / PLAN A WASH
What to check before using hotel laundry
- Check the garment care labels.Decide which items can be machine washed and dried. Ask about a suitable professional service for items that need one.
- Read the machine’s load limits and program options.Check the drying limit separately from the washing limit. Do not assume that a full wash load can be dried together on the same setting.
- Confirm how detergent is supplied.Look for automatic dispensing, an in-room bottle or a separate purchase. Avoid adding detergent before you know which system the machine uses.
- Check payment before loading shared machines.Ask whether you need coins or another payment method. The hotel accepting cards at reception does not establish what the machines accept.
- Leave time for drying and collection.Use the displayed cycle information and allow for additional drying if needed. Follow the hotel’s rules about leaving machines running and collecting finished laundry.
Choose a laundry window before your last evening in Tokyo. If you are moving to another hotel, leave time to pack dry clothes instead of planning a wash immediately before checkout.
A message to send before booking
We are considering [room name] for [dates]. Is laundry inside this room or in a shared area? Does it include drying? Please confirm the charges, detergent, load limits, payment method and access hours. If only a laundry service is available, what are its prices and return times?
Tokyo in-room laundry FAQ
Do all rooms at these hotels have washer-dryers?
No. This guide verifies the selected categories. In particular, Ginza’s Superior Twin and Tokyo Station East’s Two-Bedroom Apartment are exceptions. Check the exact category, not just the property’s amenity icons.
Does a washing machine include a dryer?
Not automatically. The selected rooms in this guide explicitly list washing and drying equipment. If drying is essential, ask the hotel to confirm the function, load limit and instructions for your room.
Which options suit four adults with separate beds?
The selected Two-Bedroom Suites at MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Asakusa, MIMARU SUITES Tokyo Nihombashi and MIMARU Tokyo Station East each list four single beds. Check the correct property and suite category when booking.
Are the machines free to use, and is detergent provided?
Confirm what your rate includes and how detergent is supplied. An amenity label alone does not establish charges or automatic detergent dispensing. Ask before adding detergent to the machine.
How long does a wash and dry cycle take?
It depends on the machine, program, fabrics and load. Read the actual instructions and allow extra time before checkout. We have not tested drying performance in these rooms.
Is an apartment hotel guaranteed to have private laundry?
No. Some apartments use shared laundry. Even within MIMARU Tokyo Station East, the Suite and Apartment categories differ. Check kitchen and laundry equipment independently.
Build a room shortlist before comparing prices
Choose two or three rooms that fit your party, then compare the same dates, guest ages and cancellation conditions. Recheck the room name before paying; a hotel-level booking page can show categories with different equipment.

Sources and scope
Room information was checked against the official hotel pages linked in each card on October 4, 2026. This is a researched shortlist, not a complete list of Tokyo hotels. Room inventory, names and policies can change; the selected booking offer should match the official category.
We have not stayed in these rooms to test the machines or verified live prices. The property photo is illustrative and does not establish the selected room’s equipment. Booking links open hotel listings, not preselected rooms.
