Same trip.
Different bedtimes.

One person wants to sleep. Another wants to read, finish a conversation or plan tomorrow. For that situation, a sofa beside the bed may not solve the problem: look for a room category with a separate living space.

Two starting points: Park Hyatt Tokyo’s Park Suite lists separate living and bedroom areas. BELLUSTAR TOKYO’s Two Bedrooms Deluxe Suite adds two bedrooms to a shared living area. Neither description alone confirms how effectively doors block light or sound.

Start with the separation you actually need

01 / Separate activitiesOne sleeping area + somewhere to stay awake

You share a bedroom, but not necessarily a bedtime. Start with the Park Suite, then ask whether a full closing door divides the spaces.

02 / Separate sleeping groupsTwo bedrooms + a place to meet

You want distinct bedrooms as well as shared space. Start with the Two Bedrooms Deluxe Suite, and check that the beds work for your group.

If your only concern is where to open luggage, a suite may be more than you need. Our guide to Shinjuku rooms for two large suitcases addresses that different problem. If you need four individual sleeping places, begin with bed arrangements for a family of four; bedroom count and bed count are not interchangeable.

Park Hyatt Tokyo: one bedroom, two bedding choices

85 m²King or two doublesSeparate living and bedroom areas

Look for Park Suite, 1 King Bed or Park Suite, 2 Double Beds. Hyatt lists both at 85 m² and explicitly describes separate living and bedroom areas. Choose the bedding variant deliberately; a general search for “Park Hyatt suite” is not precise enough. Source: Hyatt’s official room descriptions.

This is a candidate for travelers who want a shared bedroom plus a separate place to spend time awake. Two double beds do not establish the maximum permitted occupancy. Enter everyone’s ages when checking availability, and ask the hotel to confirm the exact booking category.

The unresolved detail: the written description establishes separate areas, but we have not verified the bedroom door’s construction, light leakage or sound isolation. If someone needs darkness while another person uses the living room, ask about those points specifically.

BELLUSTAR TOKYO: two bedrooms with a shared living area

82 m²Two king bedsUp to four guests

The category to check is Two Bedrooms Deluxe Suite. The official room listing describes two bedrooms and a living area, with a king-size bed in each bedroom. The individual room page lists 82 m² and accommodation for up to four people. Source: official rooms overview; room details.

Consider this category when two sleeping groups want to share one suite. Its two kings may suit two couples or a family comfortable sharing beds, but they are not four individual beds. Confirm how your group’s ages and sleeping arrangements fit the selected rate.

Use the full room name. “Deluxe Suite” and “Two Bedrooms Deluxe Suite” are different categories. Before paying, match the full name on the booking page to the hotel’s description and request a floor plan if the layout is essential.

Why floor area and the word “suite” are not enough

Compare the sequence of spaces you will use, not just the square meters. Can someone reach the bathroom from the living room without walking through the sleeping area? Can the bedroom lights stay off? Is a television positioned where it will disturb the sleeper?

A sitting area, a separate bedroom and connecting rooms describe different arrangements. Do not treat “junior suite,” “studio” or a photograph of a sofa as proof of a bedroom behind a closing door. Equally, a two-bedroom layout does not tell you how many bathrooms there are or whether everyone gets an individual bed.

Bathroom separation is another question. If that matters too, use our Shinjuku guide to separate bath and toilet layouts alongside the room plan, rather than assuming a suite answers both needs.

Four checks before committing to a rate

  1. Match the category: save the exact room name, bedding and hotel description shown with your rate.
  2. Check the partition: ask whether a solid door closes fully between sleeping and living spaces. A curtain or open passage may not meet your needs.
  3. Trace the nighttime route: confirm bathroom access and light switches without assuming a particular floor plan.
  4. Confirm the people and price: include adults, children’s ages and any extra-bed request; review the total and cancellation terms for that rate.

A message you can send to the hotel

Hello, we are considering [exact room category] for [dates], for [number of adults and children’s ages]. One guest may sleep while another uses the living area. Is there a full closing door between these spaces? Can the bathroom be reached without passing through the bedroom? Could you share the current floor plan and confirm the permitted occupancy and included bedding for this category? Thank you.

Ask before choosing a non-refundable rate. Keep the reply with your reservation details so you can compare the confirmed layout with the category actually booked.

Compare other ways to divide your space

If your family is considering two rooms instead of a suite, read our Shinjuku connecting-room guide. A connecting door and a separate living room solve different needs, so confirm the full layout before booking.

How this shortlist was checked

Official room pages were reviewed on September 23, 2026. This is a focused comparison of published room specifications, not a firsthand stay review or an exhaustive list of Shinjuku suites. Door design, sound isolation and nighttime circulation were not independently verified. Availability, rates and room descriptions can change; confirm the exact category with the hotel before booking.
