SHINJUKU · ROOM DETAILS THAT MATTER
A better bathroom.
Start with the right room.
A separate toilet can make sharing a hotel room easier. But a hotel’s bathroom photos may cover several room categories. Here are three specific rooms to check before you book.

Which Shinjuku hotels have separate bath and toilet options?
Start with the Superior Twin at JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku, the Superior Twin at Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside, or the Family Apartment at MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku West. These are room-specific picks, not a claim that every room in each hotel has the same bathroom.
Our shortlist combines the Shinjuku room database with the official room pages and accommodation listings linked below. We have not personally tested these bathrooms. Room availability and booking-site names can vary, so match the category as well as the hotel.
| Hotel / room | Room size | Bathroom detail |
|---|---|---|
| JR Kyushu Blossom Superior Twin |
25 m² | Separate bath and toilet; twin-room washing area |
| Tokyu Stay Eastside Superior Twin |
32 m² | Official separate bath/toilet equipment icon |
| MIMARU Shinjuku West Family Apartment |
40 m² | Separate bath, toilet and washbasin; one of each |
Sizes are for the whole guest room, including its bathroom areas. They are not bathroom measurements. Supporting room sources appear in each hotel section.
READ THE ROOM DESCRIPTION
Three bathroom labels worth checking
Private bathroom
Read this as a question of who uses the bathroom. It does not, by itself, tell you whether the toilet shares the bathing space.
Separate bath and shower
This describes the bathing fixtures. You still need to locate the toilet on the room plan.
Separate bath and toilet
This is the arrangement this guide focuses on. If simultaneous use matters, also check the doors, access route and position of the sink.
Do not infer a private toilet room from a bathtub photo alone. Look for the written room description and a plan or photos showing the whole bathroom arrangement.
01 / TWIN ROOM FOR TWO
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku

A specific twin category to shortlist
The official room page lists the Superior Twin at 25 m² for two guests and describes a washing area in the hotel’s twin-room bathrooms. The Superior Twin listing on Ikyu explicitly identifies a separate bath and toilet. Official room details · Ikyu room description.
Booking detail: keep “Superior Twin” in your comparison. A cheaper double room is a different category, so do not carry the twin-room bathroom description across to it.
Who should compare it? Two travelers who want individual beds and want the bathroom arrangement confirmed before paying.
02 / BATHROOM + IN-ROOM LAUNDRY
Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside

Check the equipment icons by room
The 32 m² Superior Twin carries the official “Bath/Toilet Separate” icon, alongside washing and drying equipment and a kitchenette. The 41 m² Deluxe Twin also carries that bathroom icon. Official room and equipment comparison.
Booking detail: the Comfort Twin and Residential Twin rows do not display that icon. Do not assume that “Twin” or “Residential” alone guarantees separation.
Who should compare it? Travelers who want to check bathroom separation and laundry facilities together. For the laundry side of the decision, see our Shinjuku in-room washer-dryer guide.
03 / A FAMILY APARTMENT
MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku West

Separate spaces, with one bathroom
The official Family Apartment listing gives 40 m², two single beds and a bunk bed, with one washbasin, one restroom and one bathroom. Its Ikyu room description specifies separate bath and toilet areas plus a separate washbasin. Official room details · Ikyu bathroom description.
Booking detail: separation does not mean two bathrooms. The official listing also says that the room layout cannot be selected.
Who should compare it? Families considering an apartment who want to understand the bathroom count as well as the beds. Use our Shinjuku family-of-four room guide to compare sleeping arrangements.
How to confirm the bathroom before booking
- Open the exact room category.Use its own photos and facilities list. A hotel-wide gallery may include suites or other room types.
- Locate the toilet, bath and sink.Trace how each space is entered. A separate wet area is not enough to tell you whether another guest can use the toilet privately.
- Check the bath itself. If you want a bathtub, confirm that it is included. If stepping over a tub edge is difficult, ask about the shower arrangement and any steps.
- Resolve unclear wording before paying.Send the hotel the exact room name shown on your booking page. Keep its answer with your reservation details.
For step-free access or assistance needs, ask for measurements and the accessible-room layout. Bathroom separation alone does not establish accessibility.
Questions about separate hotel bathrooms
Can I choose the cheapest room at one of these hotels?
Compare its bathroom details first. This guide names categories because the hotel name alone is not enough to establish the layout. If another category suits your budget, ask the hotel to confirm it separately.
Will a separate toilet make a small room feel bigger?
It may help your group use the room, but it does not tell you how much floor space remains for luggage. Check the bed positions, storage and walking paths too. Our guide to Shinjuku rooms for two large suitcases covers that decision.
Is this the same as booking a room with two bathrooms?
No. Separate toilet and bathing areas can still make up one bathroom arrangement. If your group needs two toilets or two showers, verify the number of each fixture explicitly.
