Two people can fit in a hotel room while two open suitcases make it difficult to move around. That is the distinction this guide focuses on: somewhere to unpack, reach the bathroom and get out of bed without repeatedly closing your luggage.

For this shortlist, we compared specific room categories from our Shinjuku research and checked their published specifications. Guest luggage reports are useful clues, but they are not measurements of your suitcases or a guarantee about every room layout.

Hotel & room Size Why consider it? Luggage evidence

JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom ShinjukuSuperior Twin 25 m² A larger alternative to its 19 m² Queen Twin review; subtype unclear
MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku WestFamily Apartment 40 m² More room to spread out Hotel guest report; layout varies
Park Hyatt Tokyo2 Twin Beds, City View 50 m² A spacious luxury option Official size; fit not confirmed

Sizes come from the hotels’ official room pages, linked below. “Guest report” means another traveler’s experience; “fit not confirmed” means we found no matching suitcase-count evidence.

Four rooms worth a closer look

Tokyu Stay Shinjuku Eastside

Look for: Comfort Twin

This is where we would start the search for two travelers who also want to wash clothes during their stay. The official room listing specifies two 110 cm-wide beds, a washer-dryer and a microwave.

The useful luggage detail comes from an Agoda review labeled Comfort Twin Room – Non-Smoking. A guest who stayed in January 2026 reported opening three medium-to-large suitcases flat. That gives this particular category more support than a general comment that a hotel feels spacious.

What to keep in mindThe review does not give suitcase dimensions or a floor plan. Treat it as encouraging evidence for this room type, not proof that any pair of oversized cases will fit.

JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Shinjuku

Look for: Superior Twin

Room category makes a useful difference here. The official Standard Double (Queen) is 19 m², while the Superior Twin is 25 m². The extra total area makes the twin worth comparing when you are carrying two large cases, although it does not tell us how much clear floor space is available.

A Tripadvisor guest who stayed in August 2025 described opening three large suitcases at once in a twin room. However, the review does not identify the Superior Twin by name. Our recommendation is therefore a candidate supported by published room details and a related guest report.

What to keep in mindDo not assume a cheaper Queen room offers the same luggage experience. Match “Superior Twin” and 25 m² on your chosen booking plan.

For more space to spread out

MIMARU Tokyo Shinjuku West

Look for: Family Apartment

40 m² apartment2 singles + bunk bedNo in-room washer-dryer

If keeping luggage out matters more than having a compact room for two, compare this apartment. Its published layout includes two single beds and a bunk bed. Check the price for your actual party size: the additional sleeping places may be unnecessary for a couple.

A guest report for the property describes enough space to open four large suitcases. The current accessible review excerpt does not establish the exact room category, so we use it as supporting hotel-level evidence rather than a guaranteed result for the Family Apartment.

What to keep in mindMIMARU states that the room layout cannot be selected. The Family Apartment has no in-room washer-dryer; coin laundry is available.

For a spacious luxury stay

Park Hyatt Tokyo

Look for: 2 Twin Beds, City View

50 m² room2 twin bedsLuxury option

This room belongs on the shortlist if you are already considering a luxury stay and want a larger published room area. Hyatt lists it at 50 m², with a separate shower and deep soaking tub.

We would consider it a promising option for two travelers with luggage, but that is an inference from its specifications. We have not confirmed how two large cases fit in this exact room. Bathroom space, furniture and any requested daybed also affect the space you can use.

What to keep in mindAsk about the intended room layout before paying a premium specifically for luggage space. A larger advertised area is not a measured suitcase fit.

Match 2 Twin Beds, City View on the room selection screen.

Check these three things

  1. The exact room name and bed setup.A hotel’s overall score cannot tell you whether the particular room you are booking has the layout described in a luggage review.
  2. Space for open cases, not only storage.Decide whether you need both cases open throughout the stay or can unpack and store them closed. Check the route between the beds, bathroom and door.
  3. Your actual suitcase dimensions.“Large” is not a precise measurement. Send the hotel the dimensions, including wheels, and explain how the cases open.

For a room where the fit is uncertain, this is a useful question to send:

“We are two adults with two suitcases measuring [height × width × depth, including wheels]. In the [exact room type], can both cases stay fully open on the floor while leaving a clear path to the bathroom and door?”

Then compare the total price, cancellation terms and the room details for your dates. These links open hotel pages; they do not reserve the room categories described above.

A few useful answers

Is 23–25 m² enough for two large suitcases?

It can be, as the Eastside guest report illustrates, but there is no universal size threshold. Bed placement, furniture and the way your cases open matter. Use floor area to narrow the search, then look for evidence about the same room category.

Should we always book a twin instead of a double?

No. Compare the actual categories. At JR Kyushu Blossom, the Superior Twin has more published area than the Standard Double (Queen), but a twin layout is not automatically more convenient at every hotel.

Does a positive review guarantee two 28-inch cases will fit?

No. Reviewers may use “large” for different suitcase sizes, and room layouts can vary within a category. A room-specific report is useful evidence, but it does not replace a dimension-based answer from the hotel.

Can the hotel store our bags between separate stays?

That is a separate question from space inside the room. Confirm the dates, number of bags and whether a return reservation is required directly with the hotel. Do not assume a same-day luggage service includes several nights of storage.

Our starting point: Eastside’s Comfort Twin for the most directly matched luggage report in this shortlist. Compare Blossom’s Superior Twin if that room category appeals, MIMARU for additional apartment space, or Park Hyatt if a luxury stay is already in your plans.

Choose the exact room first. Then check its rate.

Match room space to the rest of your trip

For an upscale shortlist, see luxury Shinjuku hotels for travelers with large suitcases. If you want a separate place to sit or unpack, compare suites with separate living rooms and check the exact floor plan.

Room space and luggage services are separate questions: read our hotel luggage-storage guide for checkout day, or airport-arrival guide for the journey to your hotel. Return to the Shinjuku hotel planning guide to compare all priorities.

How this guide was researched

This shortlist was selected from a research database covering 24 Shinjuku-area hotels and 82 room types. Published room sizes and selected facilities were rechecked against the hotels’ official pages on September 19, 2026. The source links under each hotel separate official specifications from guest experiences.

We have not personally tested these rooms with suitcases. Reviews are individual reports and may describe different layouts or luggage sizes. Where the room category could not be independently matched, that limitation is stated. No live price ranking or booking availability is implied.
