Century Marina Hakodate Room Types: Which Have a Private Onsen?

HAKODATE ROOM GUIDE · CHECKED 9 OCTOBER 2026

Booking Century Marina Hakodate is only half the decision. A higher floor, a larger family room and a private hot spring are different upgrades—and similar room names can hide important differences.

For an in-room natural onsen, start with the Royal Floor. Standard and Premiere rooms have shower booths. On the Residence Floor, the Marina Sauna Suite has a natural onsen and sauna, while the Japanese-Western and Western rooms are listed with ordinary baths.

Choose by what you need

Two guests, happy with shared bathing: start with a Standard Twin and compare the total rate.

A couple wanting a private onsen: shortlist Marina King. Want two separate beds? Compare the other Royal Floor suites.

Four guests + a room onsen: shortlist Family Suite. Five guests in one room: look at Residence Japanese-Western, accepting that its bath is not listed as an onsen.

A private sauna: look specifically for Marina Sauna Suite, which the hotel lists for two guests only.

See the official room overview for the full selection. Agoda may translate room names differently: match the floor, area, bed layout and bath description before paying.

Which rooms have a private onsen?

The Royal Floor is the clearest starting point because the hotel identifies all its rooms as having natural hot-spring view baths. A view bath is not automatically an outdoor bath, so check the exact layout if an open-air experience matters.

For one or two people, Marina King combines a 42.4 m² room with one 2,000 mm-wide bed. My recommendation: put it on your shortlist if you want a room onsen and are comfortable sharing one bed. Compare larger Royal suites if separate beds or more living space matter more than keeping the upgrade small.

Marina King and Marina Sauna Suite are different rooms

The Marina Sauna Suite is a 98 m² Residence room with a private sauna and natural onsen on its terrace. It has one 2,000 mm-wide bed, and the hotel explicitly says it cannot be used by a solo guest. Do not book Marina King expecting this sauna setup.

For a sauna stay, ask about the bath and sauna operating instructions before arrival. For a room-onsen stay without that particular sauna requirement, compare the Royal rooms first; paying for unused space is an easy way to inflate a short trip’s budget.

Does a Premiere room include an onsen?

No. The Premiere Floor is the higher-floor category, on floors 11–12. The Premiere Twin is 24 m², accommodates one or two guests and has two 1,100 mm-wide beds. Its in-room bathing facility is a shower booth.

Choose Premiere if the higher-floor setting is what you want. If you expect to spend most of the evening sightseeing and use the hotel’s shared baths, compare its price with Standard rather than treating it as an automatic upgrade.

A higher floor does not solve a third-guest problem

The Standard Deluxe Twin is listed for up to three guests. The Premiere Deluxe Twin is the same 30.4 m² size but is listed for up to two. Enter all guests before comparing rates; the word “Deluxe” alone does not tell you how many people the room accepts.

Family Suite or Residence Japanese-Western?

The Family Suite is 58.1 m² and accommodates up to four guests. Its published bed layout is three 1,100 mm-wide beds and one 1,600 mm-wide bed. It belongs to the Royal Floor, making it a useful shortlist for a family that wants a natural onsen inside the room. Confirm the actual bed preparation for your reservation rather than assuming a bed for every child.

For a party of five, consider the Residence Japanese-Western room: 47 m², with a published guest range of three to five. The hotel says the number of beds prepared changes with the party size. This room has an ordinary bath, so it answers the group-size question differently from the Family Suite.

My recommendation: decide whether staying together or having a room onsen matters more, then compare eligible rooms. Two suitable rooms may also be worth pricing if a single room would make bedtime or bathing awkward.

Need laundry during a longer trip?

The Japanese-Western room’s official equipment list includes a drum washing machine. That does not mean every Century Marina room has one, and the listing does not justify promising a drying function. Ask about drying, detergent and the exact unit if laundry is central to your itinerary.

Breakfast and suite perks: check the rate plan

A room category and a meal plan are separate booking choices. Compare breakfast-included and room-only totals for the same party, cancellation terms and payment currency. A restaurant photograph does not establish what is included in your reservation.

Royal room pages list services such as selected BAR VOYAGER items, soft drinks and priority breakfast seating. They also state that some reservation plans may exclude Royal Floor services. Treat those extras as something to verify in writing, especially when an unusually low suite rate appears.

Three checks before you book

STEP
Choose the bath you actually want

Write down “shared bathing,” “ordinary private bath,” or “private natural onsen.” If a sauna is essential, add that separately.

STEP
Match the complete room description

Enter every guest and child’s age. Match the translated name to the official floor, square metres, beds and bath; do not rely on a generic “private bathroom” amenity.

STEP
Compare the final conditions

Check breakfast for each guest, cancellation deadline, taxes and fees, and any suite services. Save the confirmation containing the precise room category.

Copy this question into your booking enquiry

“Could you confirm the exact room category and bed setup for our party? Does this room have a private natural hot-spring bath? Are breakfast and Royal Floor services included in this specific rate?”

Frequently asked questions

Does every Century Marina room have a bathtub?

No. Standard and Premiere categories are listed with shower booths. Check your exact room instead of inferring a bathtub from the hotel’s spa photographs.

Can five people stay in the Family Suite?

Its published capacity is up to four. The Residence Japanese-Western room is listed for three to five; confirm child policies and sleeping arrangements directly.

Is Marina King the room with a private sauna?

No. Marina Sauna Suite is the separate Residence category with a sauna. Marina King is a Royal Floor room.

What if Agoda uses a different English room name?

Match the listing’s size, bed configuration and bath details against the hotel’s official page. If they do not clearly match, ask the hotel or booking provider before committing.
