SIX-GUEST ROOM CAPACITY AUDIT
Searching Agoda for six guests does not answer the hardest question: will all six of you actually stay in one room, and what kind of bath and bedding will that room have? At Kawaguchiko’s luxury hotels, “capacity 6” can mean one 70 m² suite, a 113 m² Japanese room, or a suite that adds a connecting twin room for the fifth and sixth guests.

The Six-Person Room Ledger
This table compares the accommodation arrangement rather than ranking hotel brands. “One booking” and “one sleeping room” are not always the same.
| Hotel and exact room | Published capacity | Six-guest arrangement | Private bathing | Fuji view | Main caveat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fuji Lake Hotel Suite Room with Open-Air Bath, Mt. Fuji & Lake View | 6 | One 70 m² suite | Private open-air bath supplied with Kawaguchiko Onsen water | Fuji from bath; lake from living room | Confirm the exact bedding setup for your adults and children. |
| Ubuya VIP Room 501 | 2–6 | One 113 m² room | Private open-air bath, but not hot-spring water | Fuji and lake | “Open-air bath” does not mean private onsen here. |
| Ubuya Superior | 2–6 | One 71 m² room | Private open-air bath, but not hot-spring water | Fuji and lake | Smaller than Ubuya’s suites; verify the six-person bedding plan. |
| Ubuya Japanese Room with Anteroom | 2–6 | One 56 m² room | No private open-air bath stated | Fuji and lake | Choose it for shared-room capacity, not for a private bath. |
| THE KUKUNA THE KUKUNA Suite | 6 | 100 m² suite; connecting twin room for 5+ | Large opening TV Jacuzzi bath, not described as onsen | Fuji and lake | The fifth and sixth guests require the connected-room arrangement. |
Scope: this guide covers luxury properties and exact room categories verified in the research database. It is not a list of every budget hotel, villa or guesthouse around the Fuji Five Lakes.
Fuji Lake Hotel: One 70 m² Suite and a True Private Onsen
The exact room to find is the Suite Room with Open-Air Bath, Mt. Fuji & Lake View. The official room page gives it a capacity of six and describes the living room as facing Lake Kawaguchi and the open-air bath as facing Mt. Fuji.
The layout includes a 4.5-tatami room, twin beds, two storage beds, a living room and the private open-air bath. The hotel states that all special rooms with open-air baths use hot-spring water drawn from Kawaguchiko Onsen.
What the number does not tell you: six-person capacity does not explain how bedding is allocated between adults and children on every rate plan. Enter the full party first, then confirm the displayed bedding and meal count before payment.

Ubuya: Several Rooms Fit Six, but the Private Baths Are Not Onsen
Ubuya offers more six-person room names than the other properties in this audit. Its official room page lists the following categories for two to six guests:
- VIP Room 501 — 113 m²
- Special Room 401 — 98 m²
- Special Room — 98 m²
- Deluxe 301 — 98 m²
- Deluxe — 90 m²
- Superior — 71 m²
- Japanese Room with Anteroom — 56 m²
The first six categories above have private open-air baths. The Japanese Room with Anteroom is the capacity-first alternative without a private open-air bath stated.

All Ubuya guest rooms face Mt. Fuji, according to the hotel. Meals are served in dining halls rather than inside the guest room. For six travelers, confirm that one reservation will seat your whole party together and that the selected rate includes the correct number of adult and child meals.
THE KUKUNA: Capacity Six Does Not Mean One Undivided Room
The namesake THE KUKUNA Suite is listed for up to six guests. The official page adds an important condition: for five or more guests, the hotel prepares a connecting twin room. The combined space is described as 120 m², compared with the 100 m² main suite.
For three or four guests, futons are prepared in the tatami room. For five or six, the connected bedroom changes the sleeping plan. This can be useful for grandparents, two couples or older children who want separation, but it is not the same experience as six futons or beds in one undivided room.
The suite’s private bath is described as a large opening TV-equipped Jacuzzi. It is not identified as an onsen bath. For the full KUKUNA bath distinction, use the THE KUKUNA room-type guide.

Run This Six-Guest Booking Test
- Enter all six guests before looking at room photos.
Add each child’s real age. Japanese accommodation prices and available plans can change with age and meal requirements. - Write down the exact room name.
A hotel page may show attractive baths that do not belong to the room returned for six guests. - Identify one room, one suite or a connection.
If your priority is keeping young children in one space, do not assume a connecting arrangement is equivalent. - Count the stated beds, futons and extra sleeping arrangements.
Capacity is a legal or operational maximum, not a promise that six identical beds are permanently installed. - Separate “private bath” from “private onsen.”
Fuji Lake Hotel’s qualifying suite uses Kawaguchiko Onsen water. Ubuya’s guest-room baths do not. THE KUKUNA suite is described as having a Jacuzzi. - Check meal seating and cancellation terms.
A room that accepts six does not automatically guarantee in-room dinner or a private dining room.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can six people stay in one room in Kawaguchiko?
Yes, but the arrangement depends on the exact property and room category. Fuji Lake Hotel and Ubuya publish individual rooms or suites with a capacity of six. THE KUKUNA uses a connecting twin room for five or more guests in its namesake suite arrangement.
Which six-person Kawaguchiko room has a true private onsen?
Among the exact luxury rooms audited here, Fuji Lake Hotel’s 70 m² Suite Room with Open-Air Bath is the clearest match. The official hotel page says the special-room baths use Kawaguchiko Onsen water and gives this suite a capacity of six.
Does Ubuya have six-person rooms?
Yes. Its official room page lists several categories for two to six guests, including VIP Room 501, Special Room 401, Deluxe categories, Superior and a Japanese Room with Anteroom.
Are Ubuya’s private open-air room baths onsen?
No. Ubuya’s official Q&A says guest-room baths are not supplied with hot-spring water. Only the shared Fuji no Yu baths use hot-spring water.
Does THE KUKUNA put six guests in the same suite?
The hotel lists the namesake suite for six, but states that a connecting twin room is prepared for five or more guests. Confirm the exact arrangement if everyone needs to sleep in one undivided space.
Why does Agoda show no rooms after I enter six guests?
The six-person category may be sold out, restricted by the ages of children, or unavailable under the selected meal plan. Try nearby dates, but do not split the search into smaller parties unless you are genuinely willing to book two rooms.
Choose by Sleeping Arrangement
Choose Fuji Lake Hotel’s 70 m² Suite when you want the clearest combination of capacity six, one suite, Fuji and lake views, and a private bath using Kawaguchiko Onsen water.
Choose Ubuya when you want the widest choice of published six-person rooms and a Fuji-facing stay, while accepting that the guest-room bath is not onsen water.
Choose THE KUKUNA Suite when a connected sleeping area is useful for your group and a large Jacuzzi matters more than a true private onsen.
For six travelers, the room name and sleeping layout matter more than the hotel-level occupancy filter.
For smaller parties, compare exact rooms for a family of four. If bathing privacy is the first priority, use the private-onsen and Mt. Fuji room comparison. Travelers without a rental car should also check the Kawaguchiko no-car hotel guide.
