Fukuoka Hotels with In-Room Washer-Dryers: Hakata or Tenjin?

Choose your Fukuoka base around your travel days, then check the room capacity. Tokyu Stay Hakata and Tokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin both offer in-room washer-dryers. For this comparison, laundry is the starting point; station access and the number of guests are what separate the choices.

Researched from official hotel and airport information, checked October 4, 2026. This is a focused comparison of two hotels, not a firsthand stay review. Agoda photos and buttons are affiliate advertisements; bookings may earn this site a commission.

Hakata or Tenjin: the quick choice

Start with your itinerary
Your priorityWhere to start
JR or Shinkansen travel daysTokyu Stay Hakata — compare the walk from JR Hakata’s Chikushi exit.
A room listed for 3–5 guestsTokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin — examine its larger categories and sleeping setup.
Tenjin shopping or Nishitetsu tripsTokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin — check the route to the station you will use.

Our approach: count the trips you will make with luggage. A convenient departure station may matter more than saving a little walking on one sightseeing day. This is an itinerary-based recommendation, not a claim that either area is always better.

Tokyu Stay Hakata: start here for JR travel

The hotel lists an eight-minute walk from JR Hakata’s Chikushi exit, or seven minutes from subway exit 5. The walking leg remains part of your journey; “near Hakata Station” does not mean inside the station.

Room / sizeWhat changes

Residential Double · 19 m²Listed capacity: 2. Shared 160 cm bed; kitchenette listed.
Residential Twin · 24 m²Listed capacity: 2. Twin category; kitchenette listed.
Deluxe Twin · 24 m²Listed capacity: 2. Twin category; bath/toilet separate. Kitchenette not listed.

The useful twin-room comparison: Residential Twin and Deluxe Twin have the same published floor area. The room list highlights a kitchenette for Residential Twin and a separate bath/toilet for Deluxe Twin. Decide which facility you will use, rather than assuming “Deluxe” means every facility is included.

Tokyu Stay Fukuoka Tenjin: check the larger-room options

The official page lists three minutes from Tenjin Minami, exit 6, and seven minutes from Tenjin on the Airport Line, exit 16. They are different subway stations. Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) is listed as about six minutes away.

Tenjin options for more than two guests
Room / listed capacitySpace & facilities
Residential Twin · 3 guests30 m²; washer-dryer, microwave, kitchenette; separate bath/toilet.
Connecting Room · 4 guests40 m²; washer-dryer, microwave and kitchenette listed.
Deluxe Room (2nd floor) · 5 guests40 m²; washer-dryer, microwave, kitchenette; separate bath/toilet.

Three different ways to share a stay

  • Three guests: begin with Residential Twin; check the arrangement for the third sleeper.
  • Four guests: compare the Connecting Room with Deluxe. Both list 40 m², but the connecting layout and a single larger room serve different routines.
  • Five guests: the current Deluxe listing gives capacity five. The hotel describes sofa-bed accommodation; confirm the complete bed setup for your party.

Before booking: enter every guest’s age. Published capacity does not settle child-sharing rules, extra-bed charges or whether a particular rate accepts your group.

The airport detail that changes your arrival plan

The subway station is connected to the Domestic Terminal. The airport’s official instructions direct international arrivals to take the free terminal shuttle before using the subway.

For the Tenjin hotel, compare the journey to Airport Line Tenjin with any route using Tenjin Minami. The nearest station on foot is not automatically the simplest airport route.

Allow for the terminal transfer, station walk and hotel walk when planning arrival. A short advertised train ride is not a door-to-door transfer time.

What to check before paying

  1. Exact property and room: Hakata and Fukuoka Tenjin are separate hotels. Match the category to the official list.
  2. Your complete party: check ages, sleeping arrangements and the total price with any extras.
  3. Your arrival route: use the actual station exit and airport terminal.
  4. Your laundry needs: if capacity, detergent or cycle duration affects packing, ask the hotel. An appliance listing does not establish those details.

For two people, let the itinerary decide the area and compare room facilities within it. For a larger party, establish a bookable sleeping arrangement first. Keeping those decisions separate makes the search much shorter.

Sources and scope

Room facts are taken from the linked official category lists, rather than general hotel marketing descriptions. Station walks are the hotels’ estimates. Recommendations interpret the published layouts and locations; they do not assess mattress comfort, machine performance or soundproofing.

Property advertising photos show the hotels, not each room category. Rates and availability depend on your dates.
